This may translate to non-user friendly as Jeffery Zeldman, a web designer and entrepreneur recognizes in the article, Uncomplicated Technology, and Why It’s Always Worth Your Money, “When I started in web design, computers were for nerds, and people took pride in how difficult everything was,” but in reality, the most successful products, “haven’t been the most advanced, sophisticated or beautiful, necessarily,” he explained, “but they were the ones that understood what consumers wanted to do and enabled them to do it.”

Real or Fake?
After the Equifax information breach, many of their customers were encouraged to visit a site containing consumer updates and security information. Instead of creating a page from the Equifax domain, the company spawned a new page, one that was easily copied, leaving their clients yet again at risk. Nick Sweeting, a software engineer proved this point when he created a clone of their page. His version was so convincing that a representative of Equifax even tweeted the web address (three separate times) he had created. Sweeting’s page alerted people that it was a fake since his intent was not to steal information but to spotlight the fact that Equifax had created yet another cyber hazard.

What does it look like to others when you use your cellphone? Ever caught yourself watching TV and checking Facebook at the same time? The photographer Eric Pickersgill explores our relationship with media in his photographic project, “Removed.” Mr. Pickersgill recruited friends, family and strangers to pose as if they were holding their phones or electronic devices. The results were both fascinating and shocking to many. Seeing themselves so focused on media instead of the person next to them, Eric and his wife created rules such as leaving their phones in the car when they go out to dinner. Both feel like they’ve gotten to know more about each other and grown closer in the last six months. Did you know that America throws out literally tons of coffee grounds per day? Rich Bruins, a once college minister who took a group of students on mission to Guatemala, a huge coffee producer, discovered a way to re-make parts of the coffee waste. With some slight changes, he has brought his idea to the US in the form of Coffee Coals, which outperform charcoal in ignition and BTUs. Tomorrow is Pi day and I couldn’t resist throwing in a post that deals both with numbers and a tasty treat. So, what will you be doing tomorrow on 3.14.15 at 9:26:53? I’m thinking a nice quiche would be good in the a.m. and then a big old piece of buttermilk pie for in the evening. But the Target breech of last December, which was detected in three weeks, has nothing on the current scheme that is being linked to Home Depot and may have been happening since April.
